Oh, the wonderful tastes of summer! What better way than grilling on the BBQ. One of my favorite veggies to grill is Okra. If you haven’t tried grilled okra, then you are in for a treat!  I was a little leary at first because I was afraid of it being slimy.

Well, guess what? It’s not! It is so tasty & oh so healthy. 

Okra has so many health benefits from controlling blood sugar, reducing cholesterol, preventing constipation, preventing & controlling asthma, reducing sore throats to boosting the immune system & many more. It is packed full of Vitamin A & carotenes that help with vision, Vitamin C, and minerals such as magnesium, calcium manganese & iron. Read more about Magnesium deficiency here.

Okra

 

Ingredient

Grilled Okra

Directions:

  • Preheat Grill to Med-High
  • Coat Okra with Olive Oil & Sea Salt
  • Put on Grill
  • Grill one side until browning
  • Using Tongs turn & brown okra on the other side until browning
  • Takes approximately 10-20 min. depending on how hot grill is.
