I don’t know about you but I love Spinach Artichoke Dip.
Since going Paleo AIP, I have truly missed it. So, I had to come up with a similar recipe that would satisfy my taste buds for snacking! Plus, it’s always good to have a go-to appetizer that you can throw together for last-minute get together’s!
Quick, Easy & Delicious! My 3 favorite words!
This AIP Paleo Spinach Artichoke Dip can be whipped up in no time. Perfect for the holidays or those Football Weekends ahead! Also, Vegan-Friendly, Keto & Whole 30 compliant.
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg frozen or 1 can artichoke hearts (drained & chopped)
- 1 pkg frozen organic spinach (thawed, squeezed & chopped)
- 2 Tbs. EVOO, avocado oil or fat of choice
- 3-4 cloves of garlic minced
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1/2 can full-fat coconut milk
- 1/4 c. nutritional yeast
- sea salt to taste
- 2-3 Tbs. bone broth (optional) (leave out for vegan or sub vegetable broth)
- plantain chips, cucumber slices, carrot or celery sticks for dipping
Directions:
- Saute onion & garlic in EVOO, avocado oil or fat of choice until onion is translucent
- Add chopped artichokes, chopped spinach, & sea salt to taste (stir until heated through)
- Add coconut milk, nutritional yeast, & bring to a simmer
- Simmer for about 3-5 min or until desired consistency (add bone broth if needed, I didn’t add any.)
- Serve warm or cold! I like it best warm.
Tips:
- If you don’t like it chunky, you can put in a food processor or blender
- Use celery stalks instead of plantain chips for Keto.
- Use as a stuffing for chicken breasts.

Thank you for the recipe! Question on the artichoke hearts – doesn’t citric acid make them not paleo or AIP? I can’t seem to find artichoke hearts without this ingredient. 🙁
You are right. It is hard to find artichokes without citric acid. I rinse mine very well, not sure if it helps or not. You can use fresh & cook them yourself or try to find frozen ones. If you are in strict AIP I wouldn’t use them.
My sister made this today while I was visiting. I love it better than the normal spinach artichoke dip that you buy in stores!! It was soooooo good!
I was really happy that there was an option for dip I could eat that wasn’t overly complicated to make. I asked for the recipe because this is something I could eat over and over again.

Hi Brook! I’m so glad you loved it!!! It’s one of my favorites. You have to try the Artichoke Hummus! It’s always a hit at any of my social gatherings!
What kind of bone broth do you use?
I make my own. https://www.thehealthnutmama.com/how-to-make-bone-broth-in-the-instant-pot/
This looks good Renee. How do you think this would work with the yeast omitted? I’m not able to have any type of yeast. Thanks for the recipe and your help.
It would totally be good! I have made it & was out of the nutritional yeast. It is still delicious! The yeast gives it a little more cheesy taste & adds a little more nutrition. Not a big deal. Let me know how it turns out & how you like it!
